16 September 2024

A Front-Row Seat To Culinary Theatre

In the ever-evolving landscape of fine dining, where immersive and exclusive experiences are increasingly sought after, Claridge’s has unveiled a new venture that promises to captivate and delight—the Kitchen Supper Series. Partnering with the legendary The Good Food Guide, this exclusive dining experience promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Set to launch in September 2024, the Kitchen Supper Series will bring together top chefs from across the UK, each celebrated by The Good Food Guide for their mastery of British cuisine. This is not just a dinner—it’s an event, a spectacle, and a celebration of the best British produce and culinary talent, offering diners a front-row seat to culinary theatre.

A Supper Like No Other

The backdrop for this exclusive event is L’Epicerie, the chef’s table located within Claridge’s hallowed kitchens. Beautifully designed to accommodate just 14 guests, diners are treated to a privileged view of the action, seated at the striking marble pass where dishes are prepared and plated right before their eyes. The room hums with energy, the air thick with the anticipation of each course.

Culinary Director Simon Attridge will helm the first of these suppers in September. Known for his refined yet innovative approach to British cuisine, Attridge will set the tone for what promises to be a series of unforgettable evenings. With each course meticulously paired with fine wines, guests will embark on a gastronomic journey through the very best seasonal produce.

Following Attridge, the roster of chefs featured reads like a who’s who of British gastronomy: Gareth Ward of Ynyshir in Wales, Sam Carter of Restaurant Twenty Two in Cambridge, Hrishikesh Desai of Farlam Hall in Cumbria, Roberta Hall-McCarron of The Little Chartroom in Edinburgh, and Elly Wentworth of The Angel in Dartmouth, just to name a few. These chefs, each celebrated for their unique approach to modern British cooking, will take over the pots and pans at Claridge’s, creating menus that showcase their individual flair and regional specialities.

The Good Food Guide Partnership

At the heart of this series lies a prestigious collaboration with The Good Food Guide, a publication with a storied history in British dining. Since its inception in 1951, the guide has been a trusted source for discerning food lovers, its reviews conducted anonymously and without favour. Owned by Knife & Fork Media, The Good Food Guide remains committed to spotlighting excellence in cooking, service, and experience, and its partnership with Claridge’s for the Kitchen Supper Series is a perfect match.

Since it launched in 1951, The Good Food Guide has always been about showcasing the best cooking around Britain. After taking ownership of the Guide in 2021, we have hosted a number of events for our readers. We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Claridge’s for the Kitchen Supper Series and bring some of Britain’s best chefs to the heart of Mayfair to cook their food with Simon and his team.

Adam Hyman, Publisher of The Good Food Guide

For Claridge’s, this series represents an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and richness of British culinary talent, all under one roof.

The L’Epicerie is at the beating heart of the kitchen here at Claridge’s and we are proud to introduce these suppers to showcase the best of culinary talent across the UK. Working alongside the distinguished network of The Good Food Guide, we look forward to exploring alternative and innovative menus and produce, whilst of course celebrating the timeless tradition of the hotel.

Whether it’s Gareth Ward’s inventive take on Welsh ingredients or Roberta Hall-McCarron’s sophisticated Edinburgh fare, diners will be treated to dishes that showcase the very best of British cooking.
